چکیده مقاله:
Abstract Background and objectives: (ESBL) strain is one of the emerging health related problems in the world recently. Some of the species of the gram-negative bacilli including Klebsiella Pneumonia & Escherichia Coli are well known ESBL producing among bacteria, and they cause uncontrollable infections. This Cross-sectional study was designed to asses the ESBL producing gram negative bacilli among inpatients of Shohada-ye- ashayer hospital (Khorram Abad). Extended Spectrum Betalactamase producing Materials and methods: methods. ESBL producing gram negative bacilli were screened with MacConkey Agars containing 4 mg/liter Ceftazidime and confirmed with double disk synergy method as recommended by national standard laboratory institute. Samples were processed with routine laboratory Results: positive for ESBL.The most isolated species of ESBL are 20 Klebsiella pneumonia(8.88%), 10 Escherchiia coli(4.44%) and 10 pseudomonas aeruginosa(4.44%). The most ESBL producing gram-negative bacilli were Isolated from urine samples (21 cases 39.62%).and Ten cases (18.86%) from bronchoscopy sterile samples. Fifty- there cases (23.55%) of 225 total isolated gram negative bacilli are Conclusion: frequently isolated from Shohada-ye-Ashaier Hospital. Regarding the high resistance of these strains against many of the antibiotics and even against Carbapenems, health- care providers need to plan controlling policies for such strains. The Results indicate that ESBL producing gram-negative bacilli are Key words: Extended Spectrum Betalactamase. Hospital acquired infection, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella Pneumoniae,

introduction: antibiotic resistance among bacteria in particular those producing extended spectrum beta lactamases (es- bls) has a very significant role in hospital acquired infections. some of the gram negative bacilli including klebsiella pneu- monia and escherichia coli are known to be esbl producers which cause uncontrollable infections because they are also often resistant to other antimic...

Background & Aim: Antibiotic resistance among gram-negative bacilli is currently one of the major challenges for the health system in developing countries. The aim of this study was to determine the frequency and antibiotic resistance pattern of common ESBL-producing gram negative bacilli isolated from clinical specimens of hospitalized patients in Falsafi Hospital in Gorgan. Methods: In this ...

BACKGROUND Extended-spectrum ß-lactamase-producing Enterobacteria (ESBL-PE) emerged at the end of the 1980s, causing nosocomial outbreaks and/or hyperendemic situations in hospitals and long-term care facilities. In recent years, community-acquired infections due to ESBL-PE have spread worldwide, especially across developing countries including Madagascar. OBJECTIVES This study aimed to deter...

Abstract: Background and objectives: Antibiotic resistant to Antimicrobial agents is one of the most important concern in hospitals, which can lead to increased costs, treatment fails and mortality rates. The aim of this study was identification of Gram-negative bacilli resistant to extended-spectrum β-lactamase Enzymes (ESBLs) and determination of the effect of silver nanoparticles on the...
متن کاملCharacterization of the Extended-Spectrum beta-Lactamase Producers among Non-Fermenting Gram-Negative Bacteria Isolated from Burnt Patients
Background & Aims of the Study: Extended-spectrum beta-Lactamases (ESBLs) represent a major group of beta-lactamases which are responsible for resistance to oxyimino-cephalosporins and aztreonam and currently being identified in large numbers throughout the world. The objective of this study was to characterize ESBL producers among non-fermenter gram-negative bacteria isolated from burnt patien...
متن کاملExtended spectrum beta lactamase producing E.coli isolated from Gorgan, North of Iran
Abstract Background and objectives: The increase of ESBL producing E.coli can create a tremendous difficult y for the health system. These isolates leads to rapid transmission of causative genes to other clinically important bacteria and synchronously increased resistant to other antibiotics. This study was carried out to determine the prevalence of this isolate and related genes in Gorgan, Nor...
